Wednesday Update

I haven’t updated in a while. I’m going to blame Facebook. What a total waste of time, and yet so addictive. I want to personally thank Chris K for getting me sucked into its vortex. Peer pressure is an amazing thing.

So when I have not been Facebooking (is that what it’s called?) I’ve been:

Hiking with the White Menace. Sonja and I discovered some new trails along the Potomac Heritage trail. Tick Head is gonna love ‘em.

Riding my bike, but not an awful lot. Coach has me on a taper into the offseason.

Speaking of offseason, last race is this Sunday. Yee-haw! No Nats for me. Instead I will be out in WV with some teammates and celebrating birthdays.

On a closing note, I want to leave my reader with this… I was commenting to my mom about all my friends that have birthdays coming up, 3 of us in particular on the 19th. Her response? “Woman who spring on innerspring this spring have offspring next spring.” Just something to think about.

You've got to be kidding me, right?

No, fortunately or unfortunately, I am completely facebook-naive. And plan to stay that way. We can discuss it at yoga (ask Sonja)...

Facebook!?

When you sign up for facebook, they ask you three questions to describe yourself:

1) Are you in High School
2) Are you in College?
3) Did you recently Graduate?
4) Something else

My step father tried to invite me onto facebook...weird.

Do they let chickins on facebook?

Jesse said...

woops...four questions.

Jesse,

Yeah I know kinda lame. But I must say you'd be surprised who I've found on there. Lots of YOUR teammates.

And to answer your questions:
1) no
2) no
3) no
4) chicken!

Anathea, Step away from the light. Don't let Facebook get it's clutches on you.

Facebook is a GOOD thing! Yeah, a little addictive, but it allows you to reconnect or stay connected with folks you otherwise might drift away from due to geographical separation. Go toward the light, Anathea!

Sadly, I have two facebook accounts, but find it a major time-suck and made for those with way too much time on their hands. I rarely check it, but Christina is totally addicted and spends most of our tax dollars on the site.

Go Chicken!

Ummm, Facebook, along with many, many other sites is blocked by the security at my work so don't blame me for the misuse of your tax dollars, missy! By the way, for any cross fans out there, crossresults.com is also blocked due to "lurid content" or something like that. Go figure, I can't check results from cross races, but Joe down the hall can stream live baseball games.

Yup, no Facebook for me at work either. I don't even have cell reception in my building - so I can't even do the Iphone mobile Facebook. Alas, I still love my job!

Jesse,

Yo. You have to get on Facebook. Lance Lacy is talking smack.

Jesse said...

Lance is a big guy...he can talk all the smack he wants. :)

Alright all of you facebook haters, facebook is awesome and it is NOT necessary to spend that much time on it. Self-control people!
