One of the things I love about my job is the fact that I get every other Friday off. These Fridays tend to turn into a marathon of tasks and todo list accomplishments. Today has been no different.
In addition to the obligatory trip to the bike shop (always on the list), today's big task was the DC DMV. You know, that DMV, the one you hear horror stories about. I needed to register the Ghetto Elephant and get tags for it, and at the same time surrender the tags for the Green Monster so that I don't have to continue paying insurance fees on it while it's sitting undrivable in Alabama.
Well, have I got news for all you who poo-poo the customer service at DMV. Not only was I in and out of there in about an hour, the lady I dealt with even saved me money. Who knew I could transfer tags from vehicle to vehicle. I sure didn't, but it saved me about $14o. This is not the first time I've had a good experience at the DC DMV so it's not some random good luck thing (although maybe I am cashing in on some of that good karma I've been building up). In fact, I've never had a bad experience at DMV in all the years that I've lived here.
This experience has only confirmed my suspicions that the DC DMV ROCKS!
I think I'll go write a letter (or at least find some kind of comment form on the web... I'm kind of lazy that way) to let them know how much they are appreciated.
